Fox guarding the hen house

This is pretty incredible.
It only demonstrates how important it is to scrutinize those we trust with the education and welfare of our children.

Ex-principal charged with having child porn

Computers from the home of a former elementary school principal charged this year with aggravated sexual assault contained 100 images of child pornography and at least 2,000 images or files of interest, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Thursday, Michael Alcoser, former principal of Carillo Elementary School, was arrested on a charge of possession of child pornography, according to county records.
Alcoser, 41, was out on bond from a previous arrest. He was released on the latest charge after posting bond, set at $10,000, according to magistrate officials.

He was charged Jan. 29 with aggravated sexual assault after a 13-year-old male student accused the longtime educator of molesting him. The boy said the abuse began when he was 11 and attended Price Elementary, where Alcoser worked as a vice principal before becoming principal of Carillo. The student claimed some of the incidents took place in Alcoser's office during the school day.

The student's mother made the complaint with police Jan. 16, according to affidavits.
At that time, investigators searched Alcoser's home and found two CDs that “depicted men having sex with adolescent male children” along with several pictures of Alcoser with other children, according to the search and arrest affidavits.

Two laptop and two desktop computers were sent to a computer forensic lab for analysis, and the additional images and files were found.

Before his arrest, Alcoser had worked as a teacher, vice principal and principal in South San ISD since 1989, including a 16-year stint at Price Elementary, district officials have said.
Alcoser has since been terminated, a district spokesman said.
