The primary suspect? "Spuds" MacKenzie

They do things differently In Canada; and that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I 'd rather be hit in a drive-by potato attack than a drive-by shooting attack.

Hamilton police have dug up a suspect in a violent drive-by assault that sent a young woman to hospital with facial injuries.

On Nov. 1, the woman, 23, was waiting for a bus at a transit shelter at Upper Gage Avenue and Stone Church Road when she saw a car with a young man hanging out of the window.

Moments later, she was struck in the jaw by a potato that had been thrown from the passing car. The woman had to go to hospital to treat her injuries.

Detectives were able to track down the vehicle and, on Sunday afternoon, arrested two youths and a young man.

An 18-year-old Hamilton man has been charged with assault with a weapon. He was released on a promise to appear in court. The two male youths were released without charge.
