Police say the fatal beating of a man on the West Side was an act of road rage.

Juan Duran, 30, died at University Hospital early Tuesday, police said. Stephen Richardson, 44, was in Bexar County Jail on one count of murder.

A judge set bail at $150,000.

Duran was a passenger in a Jeep Wagoneer driving south on West Military Drive about 8:40 p.m. Monday when Richardson pulled up next to the SUV in a white GMC Suburban and made gang gestures with his hands, a police incident report stated.
