I, like most folks from San Antonio, despise Mr. Cuban. I am glad for the Rangers that Nolan Ryan won.

So what happened early Thursday morning, in a Fort Worth courtroom, was an upset that rates with any his basketball teams have suffered. Cuban lost a bidding war.
In doing so, he saved a lot of money. But he also saved himself the trouble. No matter what his bid might have earned him for a few weeks or months, he was never going to own the Texas Rangers.
