Castilleja receives 99 years for sexual assault
NEW BRAUNFELS — A Comal County jury of six women and six men on Thursday sentenced a New Braunfels child molester to 99 years in prison.
His conviction also means Armando Castilleja, 53, is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Before jurors began deliberating Castilleja’s punishment, Laura Bates, Comal County assistant district attorney, said the only way to send a message to him and other pedophiles was to sentence Castilleja to life behind bars.
