Convicted Sex Offender Found Guilty Of Three Robberies

A sex offender was found guilty Thursday of committing three robberies in Smith County last year while he was on parole.
John DeWayne Williams, 46, Tyler, was convicted by 114th District Judge Christi Kennedy after a bench trial. He faces an enhanced sentencing range of 25 years to life in prison on each charge because he has two prior felony convictions.
Williams was arrested by deputy U.S. marshals and members of the Northwest Louisiana Federal Fugitive Task Force in Bossier City, La., Nov. 6, 2008, after police received a tip.
