Revoked and sentenced


What are folks shocked when their probation gets revoked?

He got a big break when he pled to an offense which allowed him not to have to register as a sex offender.

Yet he continued to have sex with underage girls. His mom testifying that he was not a predator but was preyed upon and taken advantage of by teen-age girls.

No wonder the judge walked out immediately after sentencing him.


Probation revoked; man goes to jail for 10 years

BELTON - The family of Lionell Crossley sat in stunned silence after a judge revoked his probation Thursday on a charge of injury to a child and sentenced him to 10 years in prison, the maximum allowed for the third-degree felony.

Judge Joe Carroll of 27th District Court deliberated for less than a minute and immediately stood and walked out of the courtroom after the ruling. A pall took over the courtroom, particularly the three rows in the back, which were filled with Crossley’s friends and family.

For an hour before the sentence, a procession of witnesses - including family members, church acquaintances, his barber and an ex-girlfriend - testified about the good character and potential of Crossley, 25.
