NEW BRAUNFELS — A New Braunfels man was sentenced to 30 years in prison recently for distributing child pornography, according to the U.S. District Clerk’s office in San Antonio.

U.S. District Judge Orlando Garcia passed sentence Thursday morning on Charles Leroy Earl, 65, said a clerk at the U.S. District Clerk’s office. The clerk said Garcia also ordered that Earl receive no parole and submit to supervised release for the rest of his life after he leaves prison, the San Antonio Express-News reported on Friday.

Earl was a police officer in Reno, Nev., for nine years until he was convicted there in 1985 of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old, one of three teens he was accused at the time of sexually assaulting. He served 12 years.
