Minutes after exchanging their wedding vows, a Long Island couple helped chase down a sticky-fingered guest who tried to make off with their gift checks and cash, cops said.
The suspect — the invited boyfriend of the groom’s niece — was first spotted by West Sayville Country Club maitre d’ Ann-Marie Botsch fidgeting in a closet around midnight Saturday at the wedding reception in the glittering facility on Great South Bay, witnesses said.
“I called the bride over and asked her if she had asked anyone to hold her gift box,” Botsch told The Post. “She had no clue what I was talking about.
