Mom-to-be helps cop attacked by gang

BROWNSVILLE — A Mission woman who is nine months pregnant was hailed as a hero after coming to the rescue of an Alton police officer as youth gang members beat him.
Angela Gutierrez, 26, was driving to her mother's home with her husband and child on Monday when she saw the officer being kicked and punched by members of Cinco, a known Rio Grande Valley gang, police Sgt. Mike Luna said.
As other onlookers stood idle, Gutierrez jumped out of the car and tried to pull the teens away.
