You're kidding me right?

Okay two prior felonies one of which was assault with the intent to murder and a felony DWI.

He also allegedly tampered with the evidence after throwing away the gun.

And he only gets 30 years?

Did everyone else apparently dislike his wife or what?

SEGUIN — A Seguin man was sentenced to 30 years in state prison Tuesday after pleading guilty to murder and other charges in the shooting death of his wife.

Willie James Matthews Jr., 51, was indicted in December 2011 on a charge of murder in causing the death of Rosalinda Matthews by shooting her in the head with a handgun. The indictment also accused him of tampering with evidence by concealing the gun and with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon. He previously had been convicted of two felonies, assault with intent to murder in October 1975 and felony driving while intoxicated in November 2002.

In response to a call from Willie Matthews, officers were dispatched at approximately 1:45 a.m. Sept. 18, 2011 to the 2300 block of FM 464 where they found a parked vehicle occupied by Matthews and the body of his wife who had a gunshot wound to the face.
