Dr. Pot

How much do you want to bet that his defense will be he grew it for some of his patients for the treatment of glaucoma?

Optometrist and his son face pot charges
By Guillermo X. Garcia - Express-News

An optometrist and his son were arrested and charged with possession of hydroponically-grown marijuana, authorities said.

Jeffrey Elkins, 40, and his son Austin Elkins, 17, were detained Friday at their North Side home in the 24000 block of Terlingua Bend by Bexar County deputies.

The elder Elkins, who operates a downtown corneal and eye laser surgery clinic, posted $2,000 bail on charges of possessing 4 ounces of the potent pot — grown without soil in an inert medium and with an oxygenated nutrient solution delivered to the plant's roots to increase its potency.
