Police: 8 weekend auto burglaries

NEW BRAUNFELS — New Braunfels police reported eight weekend car burglaries, including two in which vandals made off with firearms.

The driver of a Ford F-150 parked in the 1500 block of I-35 north discovered Saturday morning that burglars had smashed a window and made off with a Remington .30-06 bolt-action rifle with scope valued at $1,350, a .22-caliber Marlin semi-automatic rifle with scope valued at $700, and a Benelli 12-gauge pump-action shotgun valued at $500.


On Sunday morning in the 1400 block of South Seguin Avenue, the driver of a Ford F-250 found that his door lock had been punched and that thieves had taken his H&R 12-gauge shotgun.
