Masked intruders kill Hondo resident
Express-News -

Authorities are investigating the fatal weekend shooting of a Hondo man by masked intruders who entered his home.

Jose D. Garza, 41, was shot nine times about 4 a.m. Saturday by two men who forced their way into the residence in the 1100 block of Avenue S, Hondo Police Chief John Martinez said.

He said nothing was taken and no argument occurred before the deadly attack that was witnessed by Garza’s daughter and two of her friends, who fled on foot.

Medina County Justice of the Peace Glenn Klaus pronounced Garza dead at the scene and ordered that an autopsy be done by the Bexar County medical examiner.

Hondo police are being assisted by the Texas Rangers and the Department of Public Safety’s special crimes unit.
