Stolen History

How silly is this? What the eff are they going to do with it?

Display it? Sell it on e-Bay? How stupid and just downright moronic.

Historic marker near La Vernia stolen
Express-News

Someone apparently wrapped a chain around a Texas historic marker in northern Wilson County outside La Vernia, snapped it off and stole it last week, said Chief Deputy Johnie Deagen.

Locals have used the Mueller Bridge, sometimes called the Bridge at McAlister Crossing, near FM 539 and County Road 337 for more than 70 years to cross Cibolo Creek.

It rated a state historic marker in 2005. Whoever took the marker Thursday night committed a felony theft of property, Deagen said, adding that tips leading to its recovery can be phoned in to the Sheriff's Office at (830) 393-2535.
