Edinburg man's tires had $1.9 Million in cocaine
By Lynn Brezosky - Express-NewsBROWNSVILLE — A 19-year-old Edinburg man in under investigation after Customs officers at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge found cocaine valued at $1.9 million hidden in the tires of the car he was driving.
The seizure occurred Thursday, after CBP officers noticed something odd in the tires of the 2003 Honda Accord and found 24 packages with a total weight of about 60 pounds of cocaine, the agency said.
The man was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.
