Canyon Lake woman dies in wreck after striking deer
By Ana Lee - Express-NewsA woman died Wednesday night after striking a deer with her truck and careening onto the path of an oncoming vehicle along a rural Canyon Lake road.
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety said 34-year-old Kristine Anne Manguia was driving a 2004 Ford F-150 east along FM 306 about a half mile east of FM 2673 around 8:36 p.m. when the truck crashed into a deer. The woman lost control of her vehicle and veered into the middle of the road where she was struck by a 2002 Nissan traveling west.
The driver of the Nissan, 51-year-old James Riccio, was transported to University Hospital along with 38-year-old Andrew Michael Manguia, who was riding with the woman who died. Their conditions were unknown early Thursday morning.
